Sunshine Technology began in the Spring of 2016 when co-founders Brandon Esteves and Nicky Young met in an Ithaca College music improvisation class. With fresh ideas in their heads, they entered the Ithaca College Business Plan Competition in which their prototype of a guitar pedal won them third place, which includeda prize of plenty of start-up capital for the young entrepreneurs. Since then, the team has doubled in size and welcomed physicists Scott Robbins and Jeremy "Bear" Binder.
